Veteran enterprise leaders Greg Gillis (CRO) and Colin Piper (CMO) join as company expands up-market
LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESS Newswire / December 2, 2025 / BuildOps, the mission control platform for commercial contractors, today announced the appointment of Greg Gillis as Chief Revenue Officer, completing a go-to-market leadership team built for the company's next chapter of scale. Gillis joins Colin Piper, who became BuildOps' first-ever Chief Marketing Officer earlier this year, bringing combined decades of enterprise SaaS experience to the commercial trades.
Gillis brings more than two decades of enterprise SaaS leadership, including helping scale Coupa from roughly $300 million to over $1 billion in revenue. Piper previously led global marketing for Autodesk's AECO business, driving 4x revenue growth within its construction software portfolio.
A Market Reaching a Critical Inflection Point
The announcement comes at a pivotal moment for the trades. Commercial contractors are facing historic demand - driven by data center expansion, hospital upgrades, aging infrastructure, and the systems that keep modern life running - all while navigating fewer technicians and tighter timelines. The companies that win the next decade will be the ones with command over their operations. BuildOps is building the system that makes that possible, and strengthening its leadership bench reflects the scale and urgency of that opportunity.
"We've deliberately built a leadership team that understands enterprise complexity and knows how to earn trust in traditional industries," said Alok Chanani, Co-Founder and CEO of BuildOps. "Greg and Colin both come from environments where precision matters and accountability is non-negotiable. That's exactly what this moment requires."
Enterprise Experience Meets Industry Depth
In his new role, Gillis will lead BuildOps' full revenue organization, bringing sales, customer relationships, and long-term value under one aligned system. The appointment follows a year-long search to identify a CRO with deep enterprise experience and a track record of turning product-market fit into predictable, repeatable growth.
"This team has built something rare: real innovation grounded in field experience," said Gillis. "Contractors deserve technology that fits the work - not the other way around. I'm excited to help bring BuildOps to even more shops that keep the modern world running."
Piper, who joined BuildOps earlier this year, brings 15 years of experience in construction and operations software. At Autodesk, he worked with builders ranging from global firms to local contractors, shaping go-to-market strategy for products purpose-built for the industry.
"This space deserves better-and BuildOps is already proving what's possible," said Piper. "Contractors want one system that reflects how they actually run the business: dispatch, field, quoting, service, billing, project management-connected, not cobbled together. That's what BuildOps solves."
BuildOps also announced that Christian Anderson, who has served as SVP of Revenue, will step into the role of Chief Business & Partnerships Officer. In this expanded remit, Anderson will oversee partnerships, business development, expansion product strategy, and the broader ecosystem supporting BuildOps' go-to-market motion. He will remain closely connected to revenue while driving strategic initiatives that extend BuildOps' reach across the industry.
"Christian has been a force behind our culture, our execution, and the way we build," said Chanani. "His leadership has shaped the company from our earliest days, and this expanded role reflects the scale of what's ahead."
