Quilt Launches “Roundup” for Charity to 20,000+ Specialty Retailers This Giving Tuesday

The checkout feature allows Quilt Software’s customer base of independent retailers to give back to their community while fundraising at scale across the U.S.

In celebration of Giving Tuesday 2025, Quilt Software, the technology powering 20,000+ specialty retailers across North America, announced the launch of its “roundup” feature. The tool allows shoppers to round up purchases and donate the change to national charity partners, helping local retailers nationwide turn the busiest shopping week of the year into a season of giving.

Specialty retailers using Quilt’s solutions can now automatically enable charitable giving at checkout with the scale of national retail brands. For “Main Street” stores who are intimately tied to their local neighborhoods, the feature provides a new way to give back to the same neighbors and customers who have often supported them for years.

“Specialty retailers have always been the backbone of their local communities,” said Andrew Stern, CEO of Quilt Software. “Now, they can support causes that matter to them and their customers — from feeding seniors to helping families rebuild their homes — in a way that reflects the heart of Main Street giving. You don’t have to be a Fortune 500 retailer to make an impact. Collectively, thousands of Main Street shops are extending their impact across the U.S.”

Participating retailers span industries such as jewelry, grocery, music, knitting, and thrift stores, creating a national network of independent retailers supporting the following charity partners:

“We’re grateful that Quilt Software has helped us participate in this giving effort for our charity partners, especially this Small Business Saturday and Giving Tuesday,” said Mircea Prejbeanu, owner of Paul’s Jewelers, a local jewelry store in West Allis, WI. “Just as our store is a fixture of the neighborhood, Quilt helps us give back to the people who support our business every day, and deepen that sense of community connection that defines shopping local.”

“Jewelers for Children has always relied on local connections to reach the people who need us most,” said Sara Murphy, Executive Director at Jewelers for Children. “By connecting us to Quilt’s network of local specialty retailers, we’re seeing how thousands of neighborhood businesses can come together to create national impact — one child and one round-up donation at a time.”
