Marquis Who's Who Honors Sanford L. Moskowitz, PhD, for Expertise in Education

UNIONDALE, NY / ACCESS Newswire / December 3, 2025 / Marquis Who's Who honors Sanford L. Moskowitz, PhD, for his extensive dedication to furthering education in international business and global innovation. His position as a full professor at St. John's University and the College of St. Benedict in Collegeville, Minnesota, affords him the opportunity to pass on the knowledge he gained while conducting his acclaimed research and receiving a distinguished education of his own.

The Start of a Lifelong Learner

Dr. Moskowitz's impressive educational journey began in 1974 when he received a bachelor's degree in physics from the City College of New York. He then obtained two degrees from Columbia University in 1982: a master's degree in history and a master's degree in philosophy.

Finally, Dr. Moskowitz earned a Doctor of Philosophy in economic history and the history of technology from Columbia University in 1999, marking the end of his formal education and the beginning of his academic career.

Building a Career in Educating Others

Throughout his educational career, Dr. Moskowitz has held several teaching roles. He first started at Villanova University, where he served as an adjunct assistant professor from 2002 to 2004.

Dr. Moskowitz later took on a position at his current institution, the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University. The school, famed for the impact it has had and continues to have on the educational, political, theological, cultural, and architectural life of the nation, greatly intrigued Dr. Moskowitz. He was particularly attracted to the school's emphasis on high-quality teaching and on an interdisciplinary approach to education and the lived experience. Dr. Moskowitz was assistant professor at the school from 2005 to 2012. Advancing in rank, he served as an associate professor at the same institution from 2011 to 2017 before accepting his current role as a full professor.

Dr. Moskowitz's extensive tenure at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University has provided him with the opportunity to help develop the institution. While serving as chair of the department of global leadership for seven years, for example, the department grew to possess some of the most diverse faculty in the school. Additionally, his research has proved invaluable in establishing the college's course on the history of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

Research and Renown

Dr. Moskowitz's dedication to educating others extends far beyond the confines of the classroom. His research has been cited by many popular publications and major institutions, including the Economist, Wired, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and the European Commission.

A published author for more than 15 years, Dr. Moskowitz's latest work is "Managing Technology from Laboratory to Marketplace: Cheating the Valley of Death (Management for Professionals)," published in 2024. He is currently working on another text about global nanotechnology and its role in driving national competitiveness.

Receiving and Offering Inspiration

Dr. Moskowitz attributes much of his success to his father, Dr. Fred Moskowitz, a fellow educator and innovator in science and technology. His work inspired his son to pursue a career in the sciences, allowing him to inspire his students to do the same.

Outside of his role as an educator, Dr. Moskowitz has served many years as a technology consultant for various organizations, including established multinationals as well as small and medium-sized technology firms and federal government agencies in New York and Washington, D.C. He has served as expert witness on a number of intellectual property cases involving a wide range of firms and organizations. He aims to continue this work while incorporating his research into his teaching and writing, thereby advancing interdisciplinary approaches in academic and professional settings.
