Citrix Showcases Secure Work Innovations at Microsoft Ignite

Highlights include Citrix support for Microsoft Entra Single Sign-On for Virtual Workspaces and Microsoft Teams Optimizations to macOS for Virtual Workspaces

Today, Citrix, a business unit of Cloud Software Group, Inc., a premier secure application access provider, announced two new capabilities designed to simplify and optimize how organizations secure the work. Timed for release at Microsoft Ignite 2025 conference, these innovations deepen Citrix’s collaboration with Microsoft and extend the power of the Citrix® platform.

Citrix Support for Microsoft Entra Single Sign-On for Virtual Workspaces

Citrix now brings Microsoft Entra single sign-on (SSO) inside virtual apps and desktops, delivering one identity and passwordless experience across the entire workspace. It unifies modern access and security, empowering organizations to simplify operations, strengthen protection, and give Citrix DaaS users the frictionless experience they have been waiting for.

Citrix, in collaboration with Microsoft, has enabled Microsoft Entra SSO for Citrix virtual desktop environments. This integration allows users to access all their applications and desktops with one secure login, streamlining workflows, reducing interruptions, and delivering a consistent experience that mirrors Microsoft 365.

Organizations can now extend Microsoft Entra single sign-on policies, including conditional access, multifactor authentication, and passwordless sign-in, directly into their Citrix environments. This alignment reduces identity risk while maintaining centralized governance and compliance.

With faster access, fewer support tickets, and simplified identity management, this innovation helps enterprises modernize authentication and advance their Zero Trust strategies. Organizations ready to extend passwordless access into their virtual environments can connect with their Citrix or partner team to explore their next steps.

Citrix Expands Microsoft Teams Optimization to macOS

Delivering a high-quality user experience inside Microsoft Teams has become essential to how organizations work and serve customers. Whether it’s clinicians providing remote care, agents in busy call centers, or employees collaborating across regions, every interaction depends on smooth performance, clear communication, and secure, reliable access no matter where users are located or what device they use.

Citrix now supports Microsoft’s SlimCore media engine on macOS endpoints, enhancing Teams performance in virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI). SlimCore replaces older optimization methods with a modern engine designed to deliver high-quality audio and video with faster setup and lower latency. This update helps ensure a consistent Teams experience across both Windows and macOS devices for Citrix DaaS customers. Public preview begins in January 2026, with general availability expected in late Q1 2026.
