Qarbon Aerospace Appoints Brigadier General (Ret.) Rob “Blend’r” Novotny as Vice President and General Manager of Red Oak, Texas Operations

Qarbon Aerospace, Inc., a leading Tier-1 provider of advanced composite aerostructures and assemblies for the world’s premier commercial, defense and space programs, today announced the appointment of Brigadier General (Ret.) Rob “Blend’r” Novotny as Vice President and General Manager of its Red Oak, Texas facility, effective immediately. In this role, General Novotny will lead all operational, program management, and strategic activities at Qarbon Aerospace’s flagship 1-million-square-foot aerostructures assembly center of excellence in Red Oak, reporting directly to Russ Thurman, Chief Operating Officer.

Most recently serving as Executive Director – Air Force Air Dominance Systems at Boeing Defense, Space & Security, General Novotny led global fighter campaigns for the F-15EX, F/A-18, EA-18G, and sixth-generation fighter programs. A retired U.S. Air Force Brigadier General and command pilot with 28 years of active-duty service, he twice commanded large wing-level organizations, led combat operations against ISIS, oversaw the initial fielding of the F-35 in Europe, shaped the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) program, and served as Chief of Staff for U.S. Air Forces in Afghanistan (Bronze Star, NATO Meritorious Service Medal).
