Celebrates Five Years of Partnership and Continued Support of Active Lifestyles for All
Continuously leveling up on its commitment to eliminating barriers to fitness, EoS Fitness raised $125,000 for the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) to help advance the nonprofit’s mission to provide individuals with physical disabilities resources to pursue active lifestyles and competitive sports.
As the title sponsor of Tour de Cove Salty Spin, a half-day cyclethon, EoS led companywide fundraising efforts as part of CAF’s San Diego Triathlon Challenge. On Oct. 26, more than 75 participants gathered at La Jolla Cove for the cyclethon fundraiser, dressed in their best pirate and mermaid inspired costumes, riding solo or in a three-person relay team to raise money and empower athletes with physical disabilities.
“Every year, this event proves the power of community and brings to life just how much can be accomplished when we rally around a shared purpose,” said Shilpi Sullivan, chief marketing officer of EoS Fitness. “Thanks to the incredible dedication of our team members, members, family and friends, EoS surpassed its fundraising goal for CAF athletes this year. Empowering people of all fitness levels to take charge of their health and well-being is at the heart of everything we do, and this event continues to reignite that passion in all of us.”
The EoS community rode side-by-side with CAF athletes at the four-and-a-half-hour cyclethon. The fundraiser concluded with a check presentation by EoS Chief Executive Officer Rich Drengberg, EoS Chief Operating Officer Richard Idgar, EoS Chief Revenue Officer Michael Kennedy and Sullivan. EoS Executive Vice President of Group Fitness Joella Hopkins, along with other members of the EoS group fitness team, also presented a $2,500 grant check to CAF athlete Andrew Lalli. Lalli lost part of his leg in a motorcycle accident, and this grant provides him the resources to continue pursuing his athletic endeavors in competitive running and prove what is possible as an adaptive athlete.
“With EoS’ support, we are uniting people through the transformative power of sports and fitness,” said Kristine Entwistle, chief executive director of CAF. “EoS’ commitment to making fitness accessible for everyone positively impacts our athletes’ lives, helping them push past limits, discover new possibilities and compete at their highest level in sports they love. We are so thankful for their partnership and the community they have rallied to champion inclusion and ability at every level.”
EoS’ ongoing partnership with CAF supports significant advancement in the adaptive athletics community. To date, the company has raised over $550,000 to support CAF and its athletes, including helping cover the cost of adaptive equipment, training programs and competition expenses. EoS has also sponsored more than 300 top-tier memberships benefitting CAF athletes as part of CAF’s grant program. Athletes can access premium amenities, including indoor lap pools, cardio theaters, turf functional training areas, innovative recovery options, the latest group fitness classes and knowledgeable team members.
