ICR, a leading strategic communications and advisory firm, today announced that Mónica Jiménez González has joined the firm’s Governance and Shareholder Advisory practice as Principal for Latin America, based in Bogotá, Colombia. Under the leadership of Gabriel Hasson, Global Head of Governance and Shareholder Advisory, Ms. Jiménez will provide strategic counsel across governance, sustainability, shareholder engagement and activism preparedness, drawing on her more than two decades of cross-border corporate experience spanning Latin America and Canada.
As Principal for Latin America, Ms. Jiménez will lead ICR’s presence in the region, overseeing market development and supporting client engagement across all the firm’s services. She will collaborate with ICR’s global team to strengthen the firm’s capabilities across governance, sustainability integration and investor engagement for public and private companies operating globally, with a particular focus on Latin America.
Ms. Jiménez joins ICR following a distinguished career that includes serving as Chief Strategy, Sustainability & Legal Officer at GeoPark Ltd. (NYSE) and Vice President of Corporate Affairs and General Secretary at Ecopetrol S.A. (NYSE, BVC). She has also been a member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris and continues to serve on boards across the energy, financial services, retail, and infrastructure sectors. Her multidisciplinary background bridges legal, sustainability, and governance expertise, offering clients actionable insight at the intersection of strategy and stakeholder trust.

Ms. Jiménez holds a law degree from Universidad de Los Andes (Colombia), post graduate degree in law from Universidad Externado, a Master’s in Economic Development from the London School of Economics and advanced executive education credentials in corporate governance and sustainability leadership from Harvard Business School and Northwestern University/Kellogg Executive Education.
