Krueger Sentry Gauge, a manufacturer of tank level measurement instruments, is highlighting its domestically produced line of liquid level gauges, reinforcing a manufacturing approach that has continued at its Green Bay, Wisconsin facility for more than 75 years. The company builds each gauge in the United States and continues to serve customers across chemical, petroleum, wastewater, agriculture, aviation, and government sectors.
The company manufactures a range of mechanical tank level indicators designed to measure the level of liquid within a process tank, barrel, or drum. Each unit relies on a mechanical float that communicates the fluid level to an indicator, providing a reading without the need for electrical power. This design supports operations in settings where fluids may not be visible or may be unsafe to handle directly.
Krueger Sentry Gauge produces several distinct models to address different tank configurations and applications. The At A Glance (Type D) serves as the company's economical standard model, while the Therma Gauge (Type H) offers precise swing-arm control for installations where space is restricted. The Barrel Gauge (Type B) is built for standard barrels and drums, and the L Gauge (Type L) is intended for smaller tanks under twelve inches. The Remote Ready Gauge (Type DU) provides mechanical remote reading for storage tanks, and the GFK Gauge offers a lower-profile fill gauge with all-metal top construction.
Most of the company's gauges are fabricated from 316L stainless steel, a grade selected for its corrosion resistance and durability. For applications involving more aggressive liquids and chemicals, the company also produces gauges from chemically resistant plastics and other specialized materials. This range of material options allows the tank level indicators to accommodate media that includes oil, butane, propane, corn syrup, ethanol, alcohol, hydrochloric acid, kerosene, avgas, and biofuels.
According to the company, a peripheral sealing design separates sealing stresses from process pressure, allowing its liquid level gauges to meet higher temperature and pressure requirements than certain competing designs. Additional characteristics of the product line include durability, readability from a distance, minimal maintenance requirements, and accuracy across a variety of conditions. The gauges can also be customized for unique applications.

The gauges are also applied in railcar service, lube oil and heating oil delivery, aircraft applications, and agricultural operations.
To extend the functionality of its tank level indicators, Krueger Sentry Gauge offers a series of accessories that customers can select according to their requirements. These include direct-mount and remote-mount audible alarms configured for overfill or low-level warnings, an aluminum lock nut for added durability, a gauge guard that provides protection from physical and weathering damage, and glass calibration that offers increased protection from heat, fumes, and weathering. Several of these accessories also assist facilities in passing fire inspections.
Geurts noted that the company's emphasis on domestic production is tied to its ability to respond to specialized customer needs. "Because we machine and assemble our gauges in-house, we can adapt a design when an application calls for something outside the standard catalog," Geurts said. "That flexibility is difficult to maintain when production is spread across distant supply chains, and it is one of the reasons customers continue to return to an American made product."
Krueger Sentry Gauge holds membership in the Petroleum Equipment Institute and maintains recognition from the Better Business Bureau and Underwriters Laboratories. The company also operates a machining division offering milling, turning, welding, and repair services in support of its manufacturing work.
