(NYSEGAB) (the “Fund”) is pleased to announce the completion of its transferable rights offering (the “Offering” or “Offer”) in which more than 26.2 million common shares will be issued, resulting in gross proceeds to the Fund of approximately $144 million.

The Board of Directors of The Gabelli Equity Trust Inc. (NYSEGAB) (the “Fund”) has approved a transferable rights offering which would allow the Fund’s record date common shareholders to acquire additional shares of common stock (the “Offering”).
