Led by Nova Threshold and with investment from Tuchen Ventures and key insiders, the capital will be used to accelerate U.S. full-scale aircraft flight testing of its Laila aircraft and to expand the team as the company prepares for its first international global launch operations, launching in Q1 2026.

Pilot programs using these aircraft are expected to commence in 2025.

Odys Aviation, a sustainable aviation company building hybrid-electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, and MWASALAT, the Omani National Transport Company, today announced that they will collaborate on the development of programs in Oman for 25 of Odys’ Laila uncrewed aircraft, with the intention of first launching pilot programs on unpopulated and defined routes with pre-production aircraft in 2025. Laila is a hybrid-electric VTOL aircraft designed in multiple configurations for cargo and capable of transporting payloads up to 60kg with a 400 km range. Missions operated via these aircraft provide a low-carbon air cargo alternative for routes across Oman, opening up opportunities that have previously been time-consuming or inaccessible because of infrastructure and geographical challenges.

Odys Aviation's state-of-the-art aircraft, designed in multiple configurations for cargo, will be capable of delivering all-electric propulsion for distances up to 320 kilometers and will offer a hybrid-electric range of more than 1,200 kilometers. As a result, flights operated via these aircraft have the potential to reduce carbon emissions on pan-GCC flights by up to 76 per cent and provide a zero-carbon air cargo alternative for routes across the UAE, Oman and beyond.
